The Bhagavadgītā and the Upaniṣads stand close to each other in the spiritual history of India. The Upaniṣads give the deep vision of Brahman, Ātman, knowledge, fearlessness, immortality, and inner freedom. The Gītā receives this vision and turns it into a living discipline for a person standing in the middle of action, conflict, grief, duty, and social responsibility. This article studies the relation between the Upaniṣadic teaching and the Gītā. It argues that the Gītā is not a break from the Upaniṣads, but a practical unfolding of their inner message. The Upaniṣads mostly speak through quiet inquiry, teacher-disciple dialogue, renunciation, and insight into the Self. The Gītā speaks on a battlefield and teaches how the same truth can guide action without attachment. Both traditions teach that the real Self is unborn, deathless, subtle, all-pervading, and beyond ordinary sense knowledge. Both warn against ignorance, ego, desire, and ritualism without inner wisdom. At the same time, the Gītā adds a wider synthesis by joining jñāna, karma, bhakti, meditation, and surrender. The result is a spiritual bridge between inward realization and outward life. The Gītā becomes, in this sense, a luminous field manual of the Upaniṣadic truth.
